Exhibition Introduction: This curatorial and research project pierces through the clouds of ambiguity and suspicion surrounding the hype-word “interdisciplinary”, and investigates the construction, flows, features and dilemmas of interdisciplinary resources. Would tech companies’ support for contemporary art be beneficial to them in acquiring long-term voice in the field of art (as cultural capital)? How would an art institution mediate swiftly among artists and tech companies, to allow more subtle, flexible, bi-directional and critical intervention on this subject?

The project comes with an online exhibition featuring 11 artists experienced in interdisciplinary productions. Methods such as research interviews and data visualisation are employed, to manifest the reactive nodes and dynamics of this new kind of art production atlas. In addition, an online residency will take place alongside the exhibition, in hope for inviting diverse voices and constituting a speculative, alternative scenario for interdisciplinary collaborations in China.
