Dennis Rudolph and Marc Bijl are included in a group exhibition at Bark Gallery, Berlin: Cover of the Cover.

cover of the cover

When you reach into the flat record shelf, optionally also into the CD shelf or the iTunes choice, the music lover can feel a pavlovian inner sense of anticipation at the sight of the cover of a beloved album, an inner prelude in outer silence.

There is probably no painter studio without a sound system, bigger or smaller, music is there, as if it were holding, shielding and stabilising the artist in the thought space like a magnetic field while he is working.

There they stand on the shelves, the record sleeves tightly pressed together and worn, or fly past like paper in the autumn wind on iTunes, clean and intangible, heard a thousand times, seen a thousand times, but what is actually to be seen?

Group exhibition with pictures made by artists of the covers of their favourite albums.
