Joseph Thabang Palframan in group show at Kunsthal Mechelen

Joseph Thabang Palframan is part of group exhibition Wayward Sancutaries at Kunsthal Mechelen. The exhibition runs until 9 August, 2026.

‘Limenomyces apertus’ (“threshold fungus, the opened one”) by Aya Koné and Joseph Thabang Palframan takes the form of a gateway installation, grown from stacked fungal farm waste (mycelium).

This fungus functions as a sanctuary. Along its walls are street postings embedding the structure in the city’s public space.

Wayward Sanctuaries is a collaboration with The Constant Now and De Brakke Grond. On view until 9th of August at the Garage.
