EXHIBITION TEXT
Sunsets are nature's great representations, repeated daily, each time different. In this repetition, the world continually renews itself. An infinite palette of colors illuminates the sky, and people around the world watch. The moment the sun sets is a shared experience that connects us; a fleeting interval between day and night in which something lingers, a glow, a warmth, a residual light that we carry within us. This exhibition explores sunset as both a natural phenomenon and a metaphor: a moment in which beauty and disappearance merge in a single gesture.
Everyone carries at least one memory of a sunset. The shifting light and fading colors evoke wonder and melancholy: they mark an end, yet simultaneously reassure us with the promise of repetition. Yet, within that beauty also lies an undercurrent of unease. If we were to imagine the end of the world, would that final sunset be our last glimpse of light? Perhaps every sunset, with all its romance and grace, is already a silent rehearsal of a farewell, a foretaste of the end.
The exhibition begins with an analytical perspective: the horizon, the color gradient, the ubiquity of sunset photography, and the cultural meanings attached to it. From there, it moves into a more intimate realm, where sunset becomes a boundary, a moment of transition, vulnerability, and closure. A soft space where questions can arise that would burn too sharply during the day.
