David Haines in new group show at the British Museum 'Drawing attention: emerging British artists'

An exciting group of drawings by emerging British artists will highlight new directions in the field of contemporary drawing as well as its relationship to the history of the medium. The exhibition is supported by an Art Fund New Collecting Award, which has enabled the Museum to research, acquire and display drawings made by emerging artists who have studied, lived or worked in the UK, transforming the Museum’s holdings in this area. Over 20 new acquisitions will be shown for the first time alongside some of the most celebrated works from the Museum’s collection, highlighting their continuities with historical traditions of draughtsmanship.

The exhibition includes drawings by Catherine Anyango Grünewald, Josephine Baker, Miriam de Burca, Somaya Critchlow, Jake Grewal, David Haines, Rosie Hastings and Hannah Quinlan, Mary Herbert, Jessie Makinson, Jade Montserrat, Sin Wai Kin (fka Victoria Sin) and Charmaine Watkiss.
